What is included with a subscription to CreativeStudy?

CreativeStudy provides monthly or yearly subscriptions to high-quality, online video-based courses to help those in the creative sector thrive by making intelligent business and financial decisions. Subscription includes full access to a growing list of videos and course materials. Currently on the site: 
  • 29 videos with accompanying references, links, and worksheets
  • 20 courses on contracts, healthcare, O-1 and EB-1 status, fundraising ecosystem, math for creatives, freelance finance, taxes, debt, IP, and more
  • 17 experts, including creatives who are also law, business, and finance professionals
  • UserWay accessibility and closed captioning on all videos
  • Live programming, including Q&As with speakers

I have a school or institution code. How do I claim my free subscription?

You can either use a unique URL, specific to your school, or a coupon code. If your school or institution gave you a specific CreativeStudy URL, use that! If you only received a coupon code:
  • Click “Subscribe” from the creativestudy.com homepage and select "Yearly Subscription".
  • Enter your personal details, including your school/organization and your role.
  • Below, you will enter the coupon code you received under payment method, in the coupon code field.
  • When you see a payment of $0, click BUY. 
  • If you get a code error, ensure you are cutting and pasting your institution’s code exactly and that you’ve chosen the correct institution on the previous page.
  • If you continue to get an error, contact info@creativestudy.com with COUPON ERROR in the subject line. Let us know which institution is referring you and the coupon code you are attempting to use.

Is my school, institution, or residency a subscriber?

Email info@creativestudy.com to check a school/institution's enrollment status. If you see their name in the registration dropdown, it is likely they have a subscription.

How are instructors chosen for CreativeStudy?

Instructors are chosen based on their expertise in the field, their dedication to the advancement of creatives, their diverse perspectives, and their willingness to be transparent and generous when sharing information. If you know someone (including yourself) who would make a great speaker, email info@creativestudy.com and write SPEAKER SUGGESTION in the subject line.

How are illustrators chosen for CreativeStudy?

Illustrators are either contacted directly or they respond to open calls. We choose freelance illustrators based on portfolio, unique perspective, and excitement around our project. If you would like to be considered for future illustration jobs, email info@creativestudy.com with FREELANCE ILLUSTRATION in the subject line. Include your resume, a few words about why you’d like to work with us, and a link to your website or previous work.

How do I suggest a course for CreativeStudy?

Courses are added based on the interest of our users. If you would like a particular subject to be included, let us know!
Email info@creativestudy.com with COURSE SUGGESTION in the subject line. If you are a student, also email your school contact with your suggestion.

Does CreativeStudy have paid internships?

Occasionally, we employ interns or other project-based help. If you would like to work for CreativeStudy as an intern, graphic designer, or in any other freelance, project-based capacity, let us know! Email info@creativestudy.com with FREELANCE WORK or PAID INTERNSHIP in the subject line. Include a few sentences about how you’d like to be involved and why you think you’re a good fit. Attach a recent resume and links to your previous work, if applicable.

Community Agreement

CreativeStudy’s mission is to provide an inclusive platform where a diverse group of artists, creative freelancers, and arts professionals learn tangible skills and feel empowered to engage in important dialogue. We believe that it is our responsibility to create spaces, both offline and online, that are welcoming and respectful to everyone. Adhering to this community agreement is a collective responsibility. Below are some rules of our platform:

  • Racism, ageism, homophobia, ableism, or prejudice based on ethnicity, nationality, class, gender, gender presentation, language ability, asylum status, or religious affiliation is neither accepted or welcome. 
  • Bring an awareness of the space you hold and the privileges you bring like race, class, and gender privilege and how these may affect others. 
  • Avoid assumptions related to the opinions and identifications of other participants. Engage in active listening and kindly ask questions. Be aware of the language you use and its impact on others. 
  • Come with a spirit of generosity. Share readily while giving time and space to others so that all voices are heard.
  • Have fun. Take breaks. Ask questions. Welcome new ideas.

What does it mean when you say CreativeStudy is fiscally sponsored by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)?

In 2018, CreativeStudy (formerly Art World Conference and Art World Learning) applied to NYFA for fiscal sponsorship and was accepted to their program.bFrom NYFA’s website:

“Fiscal Sponsorship increases funding opportunities for individual artists and emerging arts organizations in all disciplines by allowing them to raise funds using NYFA’s tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3)-classified organization. Projects must be arts-related, have a public benefit, and not be commercial in nature.”

Can I donate to CreativeStudy?

What is your refund policy?

By purchasing access to Course Content, you are agreeing to a subscription that is charged on a recurring monthly or yearly basis. Payment is due prior to accessing the Course Content and is non-refundable once access to the content is granted. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
