Treehouse Taxes' Marci Blackman and Diana Y Grenier role play a tax appointment in 60-minutes, highlighting the freedoms and responsibilities of a self-employed individual. After completing thousands of tax returns, Diana is able to play an artist with multiple income streams and explore some of the most common misconceptions about tax preparation. Marci educates Diana (and the viewer) by way of a series of questions and explanations, sensitive to the expenses and inconsistent income streams of creative individuals. She has spent over 20 years juggling the life of a performing artist while developing and maintaining her left brain as the managing director of an arts organization, a waitress, an acrobatics instructor, an office manager, a massage therapist, a bookkeeper, and finally a full-fledged tax nerd by earning her EA. Through it all she maintains that connection is the point of everything.
